Since before this western, mountain landscape was explored the Smith river corridor has remained a wilderness setting only seen by a few lucky anglers. For many years the Smith River has been managed as a permit opportunity only for floating. The launches are selected by lottery for the general public and permit only for outfitters to preserve the pristine nature of this experience.

We have obtained three launch permits for this four to five day wilderness floating, angling adventure. They are June 26, July 5 and July 11. In the world of angling for anyone who cherishes wild trout in an unspoiled wild place this is a rare gem that we offer to you. This opportunity is as a result of our partnership with the United States Forest Service and the Lewis & Clark National Forest. All trips will be hosted by The Complete Fly Fisher staff.

Campsites are reserved in advance and occupancy is carefully monitored. Although this is a wilderness area we will provide remarkable accommodations along with exquisite, fireside dining accompanied by the soothing tones of the Smith River gliding by only feet away.

Your camp will be graciously attended by our staff and your angling adventures each day by our seasoned guides. The angling is legendary with prolific hatches and a terrific population of browns and rainbows. Beautiful riffles, chutes and pools create perfect habitat for insect life, forage fish and trout. Many runs are guarded by towering cliffs that loom over the water and provide unique holding currents for some very big fish.

We have worked hard for many years to obtain these rare permits to share with our anglers.
