Waters - Rock Creek
Rumbling North out of the Anaconda Pintlar Wilderness, the “Crick” offers some of the most productive dry fly angling that can be had during its float season. From mid May though late June we have access to fifty launch days, this opportunity is a result of our partnership with the United States Forest Service and the Lolo Forest Service.
Great may fly hatches start out the season, then come the salmon flies and finally the golden stone flies. These bugs are the size of small humming birds and do not swim very well. Very quickly the Browns, Rainbows and West Slope Cutthroat get on them. The “hatch” on the “crick” is world famous and if you fish it the reason is obvious. The “crick” runs though a mixed landscape of canyons and forested mountains in an unspoiled wilderness with very little development. For more than 35 mile the “crick” is flanked by nothing more than a dirt road for access, that’s it! Float fishing is fast and furious. In addition to having the permits for Rock Creek under our angling umbrella we have authorization to maintain a camp for our guests to stay overnight in a very wild place in the middle of this amazing river corridor.
