The Guides: Steve

Steve was born and raised in Butte and started floating and fly fishing the Big Hole with his father and four older brothers at age six. Under the tutelage of their father, the Gallus boys learned the value of clean water, healthy rivers and catch and release fly fishing from an early age.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree University of Portland. Steve also holds a certificate from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Steve has been a member of the Montana Legislature since 1998. He currently serves on the Montana Senate Finance and Claims Committee and the Senate Committee on Fish and Wildlife.

Steve married Jennifer Hensley in 2004; they share a passion for policy, government and hunting large fish with fly rods. Steve and Jennifer enjoy chasing trout in the Rocky Mountain West.
